We need to decide what kind of comment categories we will use for the comment columns.

What kind of feedback would a teacher want to give to the student?
What kind of comments would a student want to send to the teacher?

Possible comment categories:

- Pay attention
- Look at information
- See comment
- Error

Do you think they are appropriate?
Are there other kinds of comments you think should be included?

What follows is a more detailed explanation of the comment flag columns.

As you can see in the screenshot attached, we have added two columns in the SUBTITLE GRID next to the subtitle column:
1) Teacher comment flag column
2) Students comment flag column

In the teacher comment flag column, the teacher can change the flag by clicking in the box. Then, the student can double-click it in order to see the comment in the NOTES area (bottom-right area). It can be used the other way round: the student can also double-click the comment on the NOTES area in order to see the corresponding subtitle in the SUBTITLE GRID area.

The same applies to the Student comment flag column.

Dear all,

I think the idea of two columns is a very good one, and the idea of the flags, too. This way teacher comments can be longer and freer because they are added in a note pad. Congratulations. I do not know now if I will use all the flags you suggest (pay attention, etc.) but it is ok to have them. I am sure later I'll see how to use them. To this main flag category I would add also something like "well done!" o some positive ones.

Most likely my comments will be on "grammar", "vocabulary", "style", "translation". I wonder if it would be worthy to add these words as a flag, or it is better to just say "see comment" and then each comment explain the specific kind of error.

Thank you for the links for downloading clips! We'll try them!

Congratulations to engineers working on the LEVIS software. It looks really nice, and thank you for asking our opinion on the comment flags!

I definitely think that it would be a good idea to expand a bit more on ?Error? As Olga, I believe that we should inform the student on what kind of mistakes they have made (grammatical, morphological, syntactic…)

Best
